Links

decoration inks, links, links. The whole World Wide Web is made of links. Linking is one of the things people do best--we make connections with other people. Why do we love links so much? Partly I guess it's a social thing. We're conditioned to connect with other people. But mostly I think it's because links are like little Easter Eggs. We found them, so they're ours. Here are some of mine.

Software and Technical Links

If you are anything like me, you need all the help you can get with technical matters. These links have been helpful to me in the design and development of this website. This site was developed on a Mac and is deployed on a Linux server, so of course your miliage may vary, but the ecommerce system is open source and can be made to run on just about anything.

How To Get Free Advertising

Here is a nifty way to get free banner ads for your website (or anything else). It's a link exchange with a twist. The company running it is called BannersGoMLM.comand here's how it works. You put one of their banners on your site, like the one below. For each impression (the ad is shown on a page of yours), you get one impression, which you can use at once or you can save them up until you have thousands and can do a massive campaign. This is good. You get one-to-one exchange on your banners (most exchanges offer one-for-two or three or worse). But the kicker is you get 10% of all the banner impressions of everyone who joins the program from one of your banners. To quote from the site
At BannersGoMLM.com, not only do you get a full ONE to ONE exchange on visitors to your own site, you'll also get 10% of all impressions generated by anyone who joins the BannersGoMLM.com banner exchange "through" you. And anyone who joins through them, and so on, FIVE FULL LEVELS deep! We're making Net history with this incredible free MLM banner exchange!
And, for a limited time, you'll receive a $15 signing bonus just for joining!
Plus, "targeting" your ad only to sites that make sense is also FREE! You can even exclude your "competitors' ads" from appearing on your site! And YOU decide where to place the BannersGoMLM.com banner exchange code on your pages! And, since a new window pops up when someone clicks a banner hosted on your site, you never lose a single visitor!
Does it work, you ask? It sure does. I have received well over a million free banner impressions over the years. It's worth noting that aside from using your banner impressions yourself, you could also give them away to another site or a charity or you can sell them. I have done this--I sold a half-million banners on eBay a few years back. Impressions keep adding up, too. I was actually was away from the web for five years and did absolutely nothing online. I had in fact completely forgotten about it. Then last week I stumbled on the site again and decided to check if I still had an account. I did, and there were over 250,000 impressions in my account: these were from my tiny, neglected, un-met and unseen downline I left behind in 2002.

That's pretty cool. So it's worth a shot and costs nothing. If you want to try it, click here.

Here's an example of the banner. You can see it's actually two banners in one, that's how they can give better than 1-1 exchange:
