inks, links, links. The whole World Wide Web is made of links. Linking is one of the things people do best--we make connections with other people. Why do we love links so much? Partly I guess it's a social thing. We're conditioned to connect with other people. But mostly I think it's because links are like little Easter Eggs. We found them, so they're ours. Does it work, you ask? It sure does. I have received well over a million free banner impressions over the years. It's worth noting that aside from using your banner impressions yourself, you could also give them away to another site or a charity or you can sell them. I have done this--I sold a half-million banners on eBay a few years back. Impressions keep adding up, too. I was actually was away from the web for five years and did absolutely nothing online.
